I hadn't been to the cricket in 20 years and I surprised myself by getting caught up in it as well, having been very sceptical. My son would have been bored silly at a test or even a 50 over match. The bottom line is that we were entertained.Diogenesnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8434369190746987531.post-33864872118812744582011-01-13T18:14:30.468+11:002011-01-13T18:14:30.468+11:00Still a real cricket tragic. 20/20/is not for me, ...Still a real cricket tragic. 20/20/is not for me, but then neither are facebook, iphone, ipads or teitter. Not only for the players to earn some decent money, but also to play in the champions league. Winning the big bash means you are the national champion but you also have the chance to become the world champion.

I'd like to see the same philosophy applied to First Class cricket, let's create an environment where winning the Shield means more than a footnote in cricket history.

My feeling is raising the profile of First Class cricket alongside T20 is the best way to ensure that the art of Test cricket is not overwhelmed by the smash and bash of T20.

...and yeh, lets all just forget about one day cricket.. really, who cares?Mickhttp://micktleyden@gmail.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8434369190746987531.post-41367491461791113382011-01-13T10:27:08.023+11:002011-01-13T10:27:08.023+11:00Good try, but nah.

It is difficult to have any connection with any of the teams even if there is an Aussie playing.
It is fortunate the IPL is only 6 weeks.Any longer and it would be a real threat to test cricket. It is obvious IPL chooses players based on their availabilty . I would hate to make these young guys have to choose between money and countrySoniahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02129398639035921852noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8434369190746987531.post-91779156100991123202011-01-12T20:10:30.829+11:002011-01-12T20:10:30.829+11:00I think Cricket Australia has to find a better bal...I think Cricket Australia has to find a better balance between ODIs and T20Is. England are playing just two T20 matches followed by seven 50-over matches. I guess that if the ODI series is one-sided then people will lose interest for the last few matches. Surely there should be at least an equal amount of ODI and T20 matches.Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13061413827755873948noreply@blogger.com
