AFL Power List: Round Four (or I know bugger all)

Well after a great few weeks I picked only one winner this week (admittedly I went for the Crows only because I always do). Sydney, Hawthorn and Carlton are trying to make a case for being the tipper’s nightmare team of the year. Richmond supporters must once again wonder who cursed them when they were born. And Fremantle supporters must still be wondering if the main reason their side never wins is because the players hate having to sing the theme song.

Geelong

4-0

The Cats in the first ten minutes of the 2nd quarter played as good as any team can; even though the Crows came back, I can’t see anyone beating them, unless Ablett plays on one leg and with only one arm.

St Kilda

4-0

The Saints were awesome against the Dockers. Their next three matches are Port, Bulldogs and Collingwood. If they win 2, pencil them in for the top 4 in September.

Bulldogs

3-1

The Bulldogs discovered that beating the Eagles in Perth is a hard task regardless of where they are on the ladder. Carlton this week is now a big one.

Collingwood

2-2

The Pies did well against the Lions – and what’s more Medhurst played his best game for the year – and he was BOG in last year’s Anzac Day match.

Port Adelaide

3-1

Bloody hell. After playing hopeless against Melbourne at home, they beat the Hawks away at the MCG. Friday night against the Saints will show if they are the real deal.

Hawthorn

1-3

Geez. The Hawks have to realise that Buddy Franklin isn’t the only one in the side who can kick goals.

Adelaide

2-2

The Crows tried hard and were close for a while, but too many dumb decisions, not enough class, and only a 6 days break told in the end.

Sydney

2-2

I said the Swans were going to be tough to tip. They strangled the Blues and now travel to WA to play the hapless Dockers.

Brisbane

2-2

The Lions couldn’t put the Pies away in the first half and they paid for it. Now they have to go to Geelong…

Carlton

2-2

The Blues started well and then faded. A bit like their season thus far… The Bulldogs next week is a big test to see if this team is just all potential.

West Coast

2-2

The Eagles are kings in Perth, paupers away. This week they’re in Tasmania….

North Melbourne

2-2

North led all the way, but never got more than 22 points up, and nearly got swamped. But at least they get to play the Tigers now.

Essendon

2-2

7.15 says it all really. You’re not going to win many kicking that poorly; now they face the Pies in the so-called biggest match of the year (yeah right).

Melbourne

1-3

A big win for the Demons. Now they get to play the Crows who will be looking to bring the Dees back to earth.

Fremantle

0-4

Fremantle kicked one point in the first quarter. And that was almost a highlight of the match for them.

Richmond

0-4

Just pathetic.
