Interesting charts. But shouldn't the one of GDP vs the market be of *nominal* GDP? The share market is a *nominal* (i.e., not inflation adjusted) value (which is why in the longggggg run shares protect against inflation)
And yeah, cutting deficits is a slowing economy is downright stupid. They've just tried this particular folly in Europe and Europe is now in deep recession.
