AFL Power List: Round 11 (or Geez I could use a week’s break)

An interesting round that broke up the field a little.  It also showed how important percentage will be this year. The Hawks and Port are in the top 8 despite having conceded more points than they have scored. The Crows are out of the Top 8 on percentage; in real terms, to get back equal with Carlton on percentage they would need to score 36 more goals without conceding any.

	1	1 ↔	Geelong	11-0	Not a huge win, but a win in Perth is always good. Now they have Freo in Perth and then Port before they meet the Saints.
	2	2↔	St Kilda	11-0	The Saints last quarter was just brutal; if they get past the Blues, they’ll be certs to be unbeaten when they play Geelong in Round 14. .
	3	3↔	Bulldogs	7-4	The Dogs beat the Tigers by 13 goals to 2 in the second half; now they’re off up north to play Port.

	4	4↔	Carlton	6-5	In a tough, tight game the Blues managed to hold on for a big win – they now meet the Saints to try and bring undone the hope of the perfect round 14 match up.
	5	7↑	Collingwood	6-5	The Channel 10 commentators think you have to respect what Collingwood did on Monday. I say, it was against Melbourne, let’s not get too excited.
	6	5↓	Brisbane	6-5	The Lions just couldn’t claw their way back into the lead; now they have to beat the Hawks in Tassie.
	7	8↑	Adelaide	6-5	The Crows showed true grit in a top notch game. Tippet and Walker are becoming a very strong 1-2 punch.
	8	6↓	Hawthorn	6-5	The Hawks bounced back from the poor game against the Crows with a solid win against Sydney. But the loss of Rioli will hurt.
	9	9↔	Port Adelaide	6-5	Not a good first half for Port, but did enough to get passed Freo. Now they have the Bulldogs in Darwin.
Need	some	wins
	10	10↔	Sydney	5-6	The Swans have Collingwood, North, Adelaide and Essendon. They need to win three.
	11	11↔	Essendon	5-6	The Bombers lead for 3 quarters but could never put the Crows away. Their next 4 – Melbourne, Carlton, Collingwood and Sydney. Must win at least 2.
No	chance
	12	12↔	North Melbourne	4-7	For 3 quarters North thought they were a chance, then the Saints began to play.
	13	13↔	Fremantle	3-8	Thankfully I no longer even consider tipping Fremantle.
	14	14↔	West Coast	3-8	With 11 round to go, the Eagles would need at least 8 more wins. Not a hope.
	15	15↔	Richmond	2-9	The Tigers now get to start under a new coach, unfortunately they still have the same players.
	16	16↔	Melbourne	1-10	One Jack Watts does not equal a team.
